D o you struggle with 6X6 papers when making cards? This card uses a 6X6 paper and a 5 1/2 card base. I CASED the card from Jackie Bolhous (Klompen Stampers), it is a great way to use those 6X6 papers.
Card Base: Cut Lost Lagoon 5 ½ X 5 ½, Score at 4 1/4. Fold on the score line.
Card Front: Begin with 6X6 paper. [See cutting directions in photo.] Cut ¾ from bottom of paper. Note: if your paper has a definite up & down pattern, you are cutting ¾ from the BOTTOM of your paper. Check both sides of your paper before cutting, you will see the backside of your paper when you open the card. Cut TWO 1 X 5 ¼ strips, the remaining paper should now measure 4 X 5 ¼.
Card Insert: For the inside of your card, cut a piece of Basic White 4 X 5 ¼. Attach a 1 X 5 ¼ strip to the right side of your card insert. I used the front side of my paper.
Attach a 1 X 5 ¼ strip to the card base on the folded over side of the card base. I attached the back of the print paper I chose to use.
Center the card insert on the inside of the folded card base with the print paper to the right side. Attach the card insert to the card base.
Lay the 4 X 5 ¼ over the card insert so that it covers the card insert. Attach adhesive to the far left side of the paper.
Close the card front side piece so that it catches the adhesive on the card front.
Wrap linen thread around the card front three times and knot/bow.
Die cut a Basic white 1 ⅝ circle from Stylish Shapes Die set. Stamp sentiment from Circle Sayings stamp set with Lost Lagoon ink. Punch a 2” circle from Basic Vellum. Attach the stamped circle to the Vellum circle with dimensionals. Attach both circles to the card front.
Envelope Flap: Cut print paper 2 ¼ X 6. Glue the print paper to the envelope flap and trim using the flap as a guide.
