Tailored Tag punch card |
![]() |
I love making cards with this technique. It is a good way to use prints that are too big to cover your card with. It is a great use of scraps. The finished card looks amazing and like you put a lot of work in which you didn’t. I also made a version with golf prints, you can see that picture in the Instructions section.

Both the plaid card and the golf card are made the same. If there is a different in card stock color or stamp set used, I have put the information for the golf card in parentheses
Card Base: Cut Night of Navy (Garden Green) 8 1/2 X 11 paper in half width wise. You now have two pieces 8 1/2 X 5 1/2. Fold one of these in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 1/4 X 5 1/2.
Punch out 4 tailored tag pieces from 4 different prints.
Begin with a Whisper White mat 4 X 5 1/4. Line up 3 pieces across the top, leaving a small space between each piece. Attach these pieces.
Continue to fill your card with punched pieces, leaving a little space between each. I just make sure the same print is not next to each other. Leave the openings too small for a full punch at side and bottom for now.
Turn card mat over and trim off pieces using card mat as your cutting guide.
Use pieces you cut off or full punches you have left to fill in openings still on your card front.
Attach card front to card base.
Stamp sentiment with Night of Navy ink on Whisper White paper. I used sentiment from Club House for golf card and from By the Dock for plaid card.
Punch out stamped sentiment with Tailored Tag punch.
Punch out a Tailored Tag Night of Navy to mat your white sentiment punch.
Cut Navy tag in half (see picture). Attach half on back side of white punched sentiment at top and half at bottom.
Attach this tag with dimensionals to card front.
