Happy Birthday with Giraffes

Did you know I love giraffes? I have ceramic giraffes, some made by local artists, prints of giraffes that hang on the wall, well you get the idea. While this would be a perfect birthday card for me, I think it is an adorable child's birthday card. The Animal Expedition paper makes it so easy to put this fun card together.

Card Base: Cut Shaded Spruce 8 ½ X 11 paper in half lengthwise. You now have two pieces 4 ¼ X 11. Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½.

Card Mat: Cut Crumb Cake paper 4 X 5 1/4

Card Front: Cut Animal Expedition paper 3 7/8 X 5 1/8

Adhere Crumb Cake mat to Shaded Spruce card mat.

To make the mat to go around circles on card front, punch a 1" hole in scrap of Shaded Spruce paper. Use the smallest circle in the Stitched Shapes Framelits and center around the hole you punched in Shaded Spruce, then die cut (see picture). Do this twice.

Cut out 2 giraffes from the Animal Expedition paper.

Use the 1" circle from the layering circles and cut two circles on card front where you want giraffes to peek through. (see picture).

Adhere Shaded Spruce circle mats over circles you cut in card front.

Adhere giraffes to backside of card front with giraffe peeking through the circle in card front.

Adhere card front to Crumb Cake mat.

Stamp Happy Birthday with Shaded Spruce ink on Whisper White paper. Cut Shaded Spruce from Stitched Shape circle (I used the 2nd smallest circle). Adhere white circle to Shaded Spruce circle and adhere this to card front with dimensionals.
